Grammostola rosea

Grammstola rosea is also known as the Chilean rose hair or rose hair tarantula. Sharing its common name with that of G. porteri. For a time it was believed that G. rosea and G. porteri were different color forms of the same species. However, now both species are classified separately.

G. rosea comes from the shrub and deserts of Chile, Argentina, and Bolivia. While they are not commonly known for burrowing in captivity they have been observed to burrow in the wild. The reason it does not burrow in captivity could possibly be due to not being provided the adequate or desired substrate to trigger the burrowing instincts.

Also known as a beginner species for its hardy nature and the ease of care requirements it has.
